Dr. Reimer specializes in autism evaluations and is highly experienced in identifying autism in children and adults with complex profiles, including those who are twice-exceptional, have co-occurring disorders (such as anxiety or ADHD), or are members of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. He conducts gold-standard assessments that incorporate clinical interviews, caregiver input, behavioral observations, and standardized testing to ensure a thorough and nuanced diagnostic picture. Whether families are seeking a first-time diagnosis or clarification of an existing profile, Dr. Reimer provides thoughtful interpretation and concrete recommendations to support next steps in care, intervention, and school planning.

In his clinical practice, Dr. Reimer also provides evaluations for learning disorders (including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia), intellectual disabilities, executive functioning challenges, and emotional or behavioral difficulties. His assessments are frequently used to support eligibility for school-based services (IEPs or 504 plans), college disability accommodations, and to community-based resources.

Known for his warm and collaborative style, Dr. Reimer works closely with families, educators, healthcare providers, and other clinicians to ensure that every evaluation leads to practical, individualized recommendations that empower clients to succeed across settings. He places a strong emphasis on strengths-based assessment and neurodiversity-affirming practices, particularly in his work with autistic clients and those with diverse learning profiles.

Dr. Reimer holds a Doctorate in Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and dual graduate degrees in developmental psychology and school psychology from Gallaudet University, where he specialized in working with Deaf, hard-of-hearing, blind, and visually impaired individuals. He is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and experienced in providing assessments that are linguistically and culturally appropriate for clients who use ASL, visual phonics, large print, or braille.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Reimer served as an adjunct professor in the Psychology Graduate Program at Gallaudet University, where he taught courses in psychological assessment, learning and memory, mental health interventions, and collaborative consultation. He is also a frequent presenter on topics such as autism in deaf youth, trauma-informed care, behavior management, and assessment of executive functioning.

Dr. Reimer is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA), and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). In recognition of his excellence in clinical practice and service, he was named School Psychologist of the Year (2023–2024) by Montgomery County Public Schools.
